Tufts Men's Soccer Go Back-To-Back

On December 7, 2019, at UNC, Greensboro, Tufts Men's Soccer won their fourth NCAA Division III National Championship title in six years: 2014, 2016, 2018 & 2019. Tufts became only the third program in Division III history to win four or more national championships. By the numbers, the 2019 season was the best season in program history (most wins *20, most goals *58, most consecutive wins *12, first back-to-back NCAA Championships, first NESCAC and NCAA Championships in same year). It was the third national championship ring for Zach and his senior classmates. The team also won its second New England Small College Athletic Conference Championship in 2019 and was the automatic bid out of the NESCAC for the second time in three years.

Zach Lane (no. 7) scored three goals in this year's NCAA tournament, including the game-winner in the semifinal against Calvin College, and was named to the All-Tournament Team for a second time. He finished the season with a team high 7 goals (4 game-winners) and 2 assists for a total of 16 points.

Another highlight of the 2019 season for Zach was scoring the game-winner in OT during the NESCAC tournament semifinal against Williams College. The Jumbos moved on to beat Middlebury in the final. It was the second NESCAC title (in program history) for the juniors and seniors.

Zach finished his Tufts University soccer career with 15 goals (7 game-winners) and 7 assists for a total of 37 points. He played in 86 games with 61 starts. In his senior season, he took 48 shots and posted a SOG% of .542.
